Reinstall fixes some crashes

The app was crashing every time I tried to take a picture with it, but deleting the app and reinstalling it appears to fix the problem. The idea of this app is neat, but it has some shortcomings. You cant zoom in on your photos, so if there are multiple clouds in your field of view, its hard to isolate one from the group (particularly when shooting from a moving vehicle). I find the 20 questions-style Step-by-step Identifier kind of vague (What is "a distinctive shape"?), and it seems to often lead me to incorrect identifications. Its often easier to browse the cloud library to make an identification instead.

No More Crash-O-Rama!

UPDATE: Deleting this app, rebooting my iPhone 5, then reinstalling the app eliminated the crashing upon opening. Im back to recommending this excellent and educational app! I loved this app... until it started crashing immediately after opening. It worked great until opening it today. The only thing thats changed on my end since I bought it a couple of weeks ago was that I uploaded one photo a few days ago and just said "yes" to receiving push notifications, app badges, etc. when it launched. Im using a new T-Mo iPhone 5 with tons of unused memory. Ive rebooted it... no change. Ill also try deleting and reinstalling this app, but if that doesnt fix it, its getting deleted and Ill recommend friends just avoid it altogether. Buyer beware.

Cloudspotter

This app is SO much fun and educational as wel. Its a treasure hunt in the sky.l.

Pull over! Ive spotted a new cloud!

My children officially think I am weird now. Every time we see a new cloud, we pull the car over to take a picture. We love this app; we have learned to enjoy the sky so much more now that we can easily identify the cloud formations. $2.99 is an awesome price for a lifelong education.

Way too many bugs

Have not been able to use this app for DAYS as when I try to open it- it opens in the middle of the program and then immediately closes have tried 15 consecutive times. Ugh. Also when it DOES work you have to log in almost every time even if you had previously logged in a hour ago- time consuming and missed cloud shots. Lastly if your classification of the cloud is rejected you will never know why or what it really was- not a great learning experience

Quitting constantly

iPhone 4, latest Os. Open app, wait 4 second, it quits. It did work for a while... Also want camera roll support.

Great start

What a great idea: an education for me while contributing to scientific research. Some updates that would be helpful include the ability to either remove unverified images or receive feedback; ability to post images from other camera sources (my current iPhone is a 3Gs, so photo quality is not up to my standards); app was not working with my iPad, am willing to give it another try. Im giving the app 5 stars because its obvious developers listen to their users as upgrades to app are made. Looking forward to the possibilities.

Nice app

I wish I could upload pictures from my existing library.

Very fun and useful

I was already a cloud watcher but have be one a die-hard collector with the Cloudspotter app. Responses to submissions are quick and the support is responsive and helpful. I look forward to updates that allow enlargement and editing if ones collections.

Great ideas but a few kinks

Love the idea - the creators have listened to reviews and emails and fix a few bugs in the update. Love the blurbs on the cloud types- learning as I go!!

Great App for Clouds

Really enjoy this app. Appreciate the photos showing a variety of each type of cloud to help you identify it. Version 2 sure helped with the first versions glitches. The Cloud Appreciation Society is THE BEST WEBSITE, and this extension of it gives the added pleasure of a bit of competition. Thanks.

Help

Icant find how to import a cloud from my Photos in my phone? I took photo with my iPhone camara, or Do I have to open app ask for cámara and then shoot?...mmmm

Adore this app.

Amazing app, cant wait for updates!

Fun app, needs work

Ive enjoyed this app for a couple of days. It doesnt take much time to realize the flaws, though. 1- No camera controls. Zoom would be nice at the very least. 2- Id like to be able to search the clouds of the people on the leader board, not just the few that are recently submitted. 3- Id like to be able to delete clouds that are unverified. 4- Ive been cloud hunting forever. Id love to be able to submit stored clouds that are already on my phone. Im sure the average cloud hunter would have them too, although they might need to be backdated/located to assist in regional cloud monitoring (?). All in all, cool app, in need of tuning.

Disappointed!

After the newest update- it always "glitches" and shuts down on my iPhone 5. Worked great before...

Cloudy today with chance of Sun

Who in their right mind uses black type on a charcoal grey background? Also we need a preference for text size. As a 49 year old customer its almost unusable as I bought it. The potential is there and that is why Ill gift it to my nephew. Id like it to access my photos as well. Why couldnt it use a picture of a cloud I took last week if location services is on? Also, I dont see tornados. My kid should get 3 badges for a tornado!

Issues

This app still has its issues. They fixed the crashing part, but now uploaded photos disappear before they can be verified. I shot four photos yesterday. They seemed to upload just fine ( I heard the bell ding), but when I went back to check if they had been verified, they werent there. Completely vanished from the app (but they were in my photo album). Frustrating. This is going to make obtaining the badge for spotting clouds 7 days in a row very difficult. :(

Great, but starting to experience problems

I LOVE this concept! Ive been finding clouds, learning about them, earning points. But Ive started having issues where it wont refresh or upload my pics saying it cant connect to the internet (even though I AM connected to the internet). If it keeps it up Ill bring my rating down further. Otherwise it deserves a 5!

Very, very addictive

Have you ever wanted to learn the names of the clouds, find out more about them and see jaw-dropping photos of the sky in action? This app lets you learn about the different cloud types actively: you take photos in the app, attempt to classify them and then a crowd of actual people (!) behind the scenes will review your submission and let you know if you got it wrong or right. You get stars for each new type of cloud you identify and badges for specific groups or types of clouds or light-effects that you successfully spot. Thats the addictive part, theres a leaderboard too, and people are eagerly waiting to see who will be the first cloudspotter to spot every kind of cloud and effect and earn all of the badges! (I, personally, have never experienced the app crashing my phone.)

Mine is broken.

After I upgraded, the app no longer worked. I have made some amazing sightings and have not been able to record them.
